Galvannealed steel is a galvanized sheet steel which is altered by heat treatments or other processes immediately after coating, before zinc solidifies. The coating produced consists entirely of iron zinc alloy and has a rougher appearance than the surface of regular coating. Sheets produced in this manner are dull gray in color, have no spangle and, after proper preparation, are well suited for painting.
